Toyota's Muscle Machines Heads To India

Toyota Innova
All's not gloomy with the recession believe me. Owing to the economic slowdown the government has relaxed import regulations to India. So taking full advantage of this is Toyota. Toyota is all set to bring in its Land Cruisers into Indian shores. For now the only car from the Land Cruiser family sold in India is the Toyota, which is a very good car. But the only option available is a petrol engine, making it a wee bit impractical. So now Toyota may actually bring in the diesel variants of other famous Land Cruiser models.

Also on the charts is the possible import of the Toyota Fortuner, the smart off roader. With the diesel engine topping at 160 bhp and 341 Nm, the Fortuner is expected to compete with the Honda CRV in the luxury SUV genre. Toyota is only expected to launch a diesel variant, as the high import duties would make the petrol engine unnecessarily expensive. The engine options though are aplenty otherwise, what with a 2, 2.7 and 4 liter engines. There are also a 4 cylinder or single cylinder and rear or four-wheel drive options. The technologies like ABS, SRS air bags are standard with the car at this price range.

Toyota is also considering an all-new big volume compact car for India, though this is not confirmed yet. So as we said earlier everything's not gloomy with the recession.
