Rolls Royce's 'Phantom'

By Staff

Rolls Royce, Phantom
After a two year gap Rolls Royce finally launched the coupe version of the Phantom in India. There is no doubt that at Rs.4 crores this will be the second most expensive (after the original of course) and exclusive cars in India. Rolls Royce has targeted the 'new generation millionaires' for the sale of their coupe. The Rolls Royce cars are already available in EMIs and in the face of the economic meltdown, this is a crucial step.

The super luxury car makers have not been very successful in the previous year. With a target of 18 cars for 2008, they only managed to sell 14 of them. This year however there have been 3 sales already and 3 bookings. Rolls plans to custom build every car and offers a hundred year warranty on all non moving parts. But the incredible snob value may turn off Youngistaan, even though the sports coupe is a full crore cheaper than the 4 door version. Navnit motors, the dealers for all Rolls Royce cars in India, is hoping to maintain the previous year's figures in all eventualities. The RR-4 being considerably cheaper than the phantoms and to be launched by 2010 might still help the company meet its projected 50% growth.
