Mahindra Launches The XYLO In South Africa

Mahindra South Africa, a subsidiary of the US$ 6.7 billion Mahindra Group, launched its new multipurpose vehicle, the XYLO. The XYLO is a versatile and spacious MPV that is set to redefine road travel in South Africa.

The XYLO range for the South African market consists of the luxury model, the E8, and the people mover, the E2.

Mahindra has invested more than US 0 million in the development of the XYLO, which included setting up a new robotic body shop at its Nashik plant, as well as an additional trim line at the final assembly shop. Over 200 dies and more than 1000 new parts were developed for the XYLO.

The vehicle was first introduced in India in January 2009, where it launched to much critical acclaim.

"The XYLO symbolises the creation of a completely new vehicle platform in the Mahindra stable. The South African vehicle market is one of the largest and most dynamic in Africa. Mahindra South Africa has achieved significant growth in the country since it commenced operations in October 2004 and has established a countrywide presence of over 30 dealers.
