Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet Review: Maniac In Street Clothes
Bangalore-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Ultraviolette till recently had just one offering for the general public in the form of the F77 Mach 2. While riders enjoyed the F77 Mach 2's massive torque levels along with its looks and usable range, some found the riding position to be a bit too forward-leaning for everyday use.
Sensing an opportunity, Ultraviolette got to work, readying a more street-focused version of the F77 Mach 2. The end result of that work arrived a few days ago in the form of the F77 Superstreet and we recently got the chance to ride it in Bangalore. Here are our thoughts about the F77 Superstreet after a few hours in the saddle...

Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet Review: What's Changed From The F77 Mach 2?
The most visible change on the F77 Superstreet can be seen at the front of the bike. The F77 Superstreet sports a revised headlight design, which gives the bike a new cowl. Ultraviolette claims that the redesigned headlight design is around 15% more aerodynamic compared to the one on the F77 Mach 2. The new headlight has also meant that the 5-inch TFT had to be angled slightly differently.

The other major change comes in the form of the new handlebar. This new handlebar on the F77 Superstreet is wider and taller than the Mach 2's unit. Despite the lack of change in the position of the footpegs means that you sit a lot more upright on the F77 Superstreet thanks to the now 80-degree rider's triangle.
Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet Review: What's The Same As The F77 Mach 2?

Apart from the two changes mentioned above, the F77 Superstreet is identical to the F77 Mach 2. The new bike gets the same two battery pack options as the Mach 2 - 7.1kWh (Superstreet) and 10.3kWh (Superstreet Recon) - which deliver an IDC range of 211km and 323km respectively.
The base F77 Superstreet's battery pack is connected to a 36.2bhp electric motor that also delivers 90Nm of peak torque allowing for a 0-60km/h time of 2.9 seconds and a 0-100km/h time of 7.8 seconds. The Superstreet Recon ups the motor's performance to 40.2bhp and 100Nm which allows for a dip of 0.1 second for both 0-60km/h and 0-100km/h sprints. Both versions of the F77 Superstreet top out at 155km/h.

The F77 Superstreet also keeps the Mach 2's steel trellis frame and aluminium bulkhead setup suspended off a 4mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear (both preload adjustable). The Superstreet also features the same 320mm (front) and 230mm (rear) disc brake setup as the F77 Mach 2. There are fixed four-radial piston callipers clamping the front disc and a floating single-piston calliper doing the same job at the rear. The F77 Superstreet also sports the same 17-inch alloys draped with 110/70 R17 (Front) and 150/60 R17 (Rear) tyres.
The F77 Super Street is also equipped with three riding modes, 10 regenerative braking levels, three traction control and ABS modes, hill-hold assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet Review: Riding Impressions - A Slightly More Street-Focused Maniac
On the road, the F77 Superstreet is as mad as the Mach 2 especially when you have Ballistic mode turned on as it will stretch its legs with such ferocity that you'll find yourself doing triple digits in no time.

The traction control modes are the same as the F77 Mach 2 as well - from the unchecked switched-off mode to the annoyingly interfering Mode 3. The regen modes are as comprehensive as ever with the Level 9 really giving you the feel of what engine braking does on ICE bikes.
It is when you're on the move that the small changes that have turned the Mach 2 into the Superstreet are a lot more noticeable. You sit a bit more upright in the new F77 Superstreet and for those who like to ride for longer distances, the riding position is perfect. The bike feels a little more agile than the Mach 2, and you feel confident turning into corners, no matter the speed.

However, the seat is still the same hard unit found on the Mach 2 and that rear seat is still as small as ever, so you may have to stop after a bit to give your pillion a breather.
Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet Review: Final Thoughts & Verdict - Street Focused But Still A Bit Unhinged

The F77 Superstreet sees Ultraviolette take the F77 Mach 2's tried, tested and unhinged formula and make it slightly more road-focused. These changes - a more upright and slightly more aerodynamic front end means that the F77 Superstreet is a bit easier to live with compared to the F77 Mach 2, while still retaining the unhinged performance of its more track-focused sibling.
