The TVS NTorq 150 has been launched in India as the country's first 150 cc hyper-sport scooter. The introductory price for the TVS Ntorq starts at ₹1.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore). The new Ntorq 150 is the second scooter to bear the Ntorq nameplate.

The new Ntorq takes many of its design cues from its maller sibling but adds details from the Graphite concept from 2018. It also features a brand new engine a botload of tech. We go to ride the TVS Ntorq 150 at the TVS production facilities in Hosur and here are our thoughts abfter a few hours in the saddle...

TVS Ntorq 150 First Ride Review - Design & Features

TVS has given the Ntorq 150 a more aggressive design compared to its smaller sibling. The scooter features a sharper stance with aerodynamic winglets at the front, inspired by the Apache RR 310, aimed at improving stability and adding visual presence on the road.

Up front, the Ntorq 150 gets a quad-projector LED headlight setup positioned higher than the Ntorq 125's unit. A new T-shaped LED signature has been introduced in the tail-lamps, while LED turn indicators with integrated hazard light and panic braking function further enhance safety and visibility.

The scooter's design is complemented by a sportier body profile, highlighted by sharp panels and bold graphics. The seating remains step-style for a sport-oriented look, and practicality has been kept intact with a front glove compartment, USB charging point, and a convenient shopping hook.

The new Ntorq 150 features a new 5-inch TFT display that sits above the naked handelbar section. It offers a wide range of connected features including turn-by-turn navigation, music control, weather and sports updates, Alexa integration, smartwatch connectivity, and 4G eSim-based telematics with over-the-air software updates.

Switchgear quality has been upgraded with a four-way navigation controller for easier access to functions. Riders also get access to advanced informatics through the TVS SmartXonnect platform, making the Ntorq 150 one of the most feature-packed scooters in its class, blending technology with performance-oriented design.

The seat height is 770 mm, making it accessible for most riders, and the seat length is 765 mm, providing ample space for two passengers. Underseat storage space is rated at 22 litres, with a USB charging port and two glove boxes for added convenience. The riding position is comfortable, and offers good legroom for the rider.

The Ntorq 150 offers segment-first adjustable brake levers with three levels of adjustment. The scooter also comes with Hill Hold Assist, which helps keep the vehicle stationary on slopes. The NTorq 150 provides a wide handlebar for better control and comfort during rides.

Safety features include single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and switchable traction control. Emergency braking activates blinking indicators to alert vehicles behind.

TVS Ntorq 150 First Ride Review – The Mechanical Bits

The Ntorq 150 is powered by a new 149.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled three-valve engine with Integrated Starter Generator assist. It produces 13.2hp at 7,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 5,500rpm. TVS claims a top speed of 104kmph and a 0-60km time of 6.3 seconds and offers two riding modes - Street and Race - that alter the throttle response and power output.

The Ntorq 150's underpinning are based on a strengthened version of the Ntorq 125's underbone frame. Suspension is handled by telescopic forks up front and a rear monoshock, with revised spring and damper rates tuned to manage the extra performance.

Braking hardware consists of a front disc and rear drum setup with single-channel ABS included as standard. The front rotor measures 220mm while the rear is a 130mm drum. The Ntorq 150 also features traction control.

The Ntorq 150 rides on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres, sized 100/80-12 at the front and 110/80-12 at the rear. TVS claims that wider rubber improves road grip and stability, balancing city-friendly agility with better composure at higher speeds to match the scooter's stronger performance.

TVS Ntorq 150 First Ride Review – Riding Impressions

We rode the TVS Ntorq 150 at TVS's track in Hosur, and the on the move, the new hyper scooter felt brisk everytime you twisted the throttle. It also felt quite comfortable to ride and easy to to control.

The seat of the Ntorq 150 felt very well padded and supportive, and the floorboard offers enough legroom for most riders. The wide handlebar makes it easy to steer, and combined with the wider tyres gave the Ntorq 150 a planted feel when leaning into corners or changing direction quickly.The Ntorq 150 also felt stable at higher speeds.

The ride quality is equally impressive. The Notrq 150's telescopic fork and rear monoshock soak up bumps without making the ride feel too soft. At slower speeds it smooths out the bumps and ruts quite well.

TVS has added two riding modes here. Street mode brings in idle start-stop for better efficiency while Sport mode sharpens the throttle response with iQO assist and feels a lot livlier off the line. Switching between the two modes is seamless and just adds to the Ntorq 150's versatility.

Braking is strong and progressive, backed by single-channel ABS. The system also activates the hazard lights under emergency braking, which is a neat touch for safety. Traction control works quietly in the background and is especially useful in wet conditions where it keeps the scooter composed and prevents wheel slip.

The NTorq 150 sees TVS climb into one of the most rarified spaces in the Indian scooter market.
