We recently got to ride the Numeros N-First electric scooter i Bangalore and here are our thoughts after a few hours in the saddle...

Numeros N-First Review – Design & Features
The n-First electric scooter features a distinctive design highlighted by a compact front apron with a round LED headlamp. The front section carries a sporty appearance, accentuated by sharp body creases and an aggressive head unit that gives it a dynamic stance on the road.
Toward the rear, the scooter adopts a cleaner, more minimalist profile with straight design lines and a split two-piece seat setup. Complementing its proportions are the 16-inch alloy wheels, a rarity in this segment. The model will be available in two colour options - Traffic Red and Pure White.

The seat is designed for comfort. There is ample footboard space for daily use, and the under-seat storage can hold essentials and your shopping. The Numeros N-First comes with a digital instrument cluster showing speed, battery status, range, and trip information. The N-First also offers a USB charging port and keyless start for added convenience.
Other features include a combined braking system (CBS), a side-stand sensor and anti-theft alarm and tubeless tyres along with LED lighting all around.

Numeros N-First Review – Powertrain & Mechanical Bits
The n-First electric scooter is offered in five variants across three trim levels - n-First Max, n-First i-Max, and n-First Max+. The top-spec 3 kWh i-Max+ delivers an IDC-rated range of 109 km, while the 2.5 kWh Max and i-Max variants use liquid-immersion-cooled lithium-ion batteries capable of an IDC range of up to 91 km.

Power comes from a 1.8 kW PMSM mid-drive motor paired with a chain transmission, delivering smooth acceleration and high efficiency. The 2.5 kWh battery takes around 5-6 hours to charge, while the 3.0 kWh unit requires 7-8 hours. The scooter supports over-the-air (OTA) updates for software and performance improvements and achieves a top speed of 70 km/h.
The supension setup features a telescopic front fork and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear, offering adjustable damping for comfort and stability. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes on both ends. The scooter measures 1,979 mm in length, 686 mm in width, and 1,125 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,341 mm and a ground clearance of 159 mm.

Numeros N-First Review - Riding Impressions
The Numeros N-First delivers a stable and confident ride, helped largely by its 16-inch wheels, which roll more smoothly over potholes and uneven surfaces than the smaller wheels found on most city scooters.
This gives the scooter a planted feel at moderate speeds and noticeably better composure on rougher roads. The larger wheel size and solid frame design also enhance balance when riding with a pillion or light luggage, making it more comfortable for two-up use.

Performance from the 1.8 kW motor feels adequate for city riding, with the top speed of 70 km/h on the higher variant proving sufficient for daily commutes, though it may feel limited on faster highway stretches. The 3 kWh battery offers a claimed 109 km IDC range, which is ample for urban use, but as with most EVs, real-world numbers are lower.
The suspension setup is on the firmer side and you feel the bumps and ruts at higher speeds though the ride feels very stable on the go.

Overall, the Numeros Motors N-First works best as a city commuter combining decent range, with stable handling and more than decent performance for riding about on the city, especially at a price tag of Rs 65k (ex-showroom). However, there are still a few niggles that Numeros has to sort out before we can recommend it for you to shortlist as your first EV.
