Aprilia SR150 MotoScooter Review — Is it Worth Buying?
The Aprilia brand has been available in the Indian market for a while now. The entire range of two-wheelers from Piaggio Group is on offer at the MotoPlex outlets. Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and Vespa products are available in these exclusive showrooms pan India.
At the 2016 Auto Expo, the Piaggio Group showcased an all-new scooter the Aprilia SR150. What was even more interesting was the promise to launch it within this year.

Aprilia claims that the SR150 can attain a top speed of 95km/h, however, on a long stretch of road we managed to hit a staggering 120km/h. The SR150 gets a large 6-litre fuel tank, which should reduce the number of fuel stops on a long journey.

Design
&
Styling
Of
The
Aprilia
SR
150
With regards to its design, there is nothing quite like the SR150 in the Indian market today.
The Aprilia SR150 looks sharp and aggressive from every angle. The front-end looks sporty and the dual-pod headlamps grab all the eyeballs. The rear-end looks more like a motorcycle and less of a scooter.
The SR150's styling is a sure shot head turner no matter where it is ridden.
Ride
&
Handling
Of
The
SR
150
While
the

SR150
idles,
there
is
a

Surprisingly,
this
all
disappears

Unfortunately,
the
Aprilia
SR150
does
not
have
good
acceleration
off
the
line,
but
has
a
very
strong
mid-range
power
delivery.
Currently, only the Vespa range of scooters are available in the 150cc segment in India. The SR150 borrows the Vespa 150 engine, however, it is geared differently for maximum riding pleasure.
The most noteworthy features are the tyres on the Aprilia SR150, which provide really good traction. The suspension setup is on the stiffer side, sacrificing comfort for an exhilarating ride, but when combined with the strong chassis setup, it instills confidence while cornering.
The brakes on the Aprilia are sharp and have good bite and remind you of the brake setups on a motorcycle.
Competition
At

the

Things We Liked
The fit and finish are top-notch on the Aprilia SR150, the overall design language is sharp and aggressive. Cornering and the ability to shed speed are phenomenal on the Aprilia. Pricing has been spot on and is sure to garner interest from younger male scooter buyers in India.
Things
We
Did
Not
Like
The
initial
acceleration
is
quite
flat
which
does
not
excite
enthusiastic
riders.
Being
a
150cc
engine,
we
were
expecting
a
tad
bit
more
power
across
the
range.
For
tall
riders,
the
footboard
will
surely
feel
narrow,
as
well
as,
inadequate
to
keep
their
feet
in
one
place.
The Aprilia SR150 also does not have a lot of storage options, the under seat storage is sufficient only for a half face helmet. The stiff suspension setup will not be appreciated long commutes on Indian roads.
