2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z First Ride Review: Flagship Maniac Is Quicker Than Ever
Pune-based bikemaker Bajaj recently updated its NS series with the 2025 version of its flagship NS400Z price of ₹1.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Bajaj NS400Z.features a host of mechanical & tech updates that really up its performance on the road.

2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Review – What's Changed & What's Remained The Same
The Bajaj Pular NS 400Z showcases an aggressive, muscular look that remainsmostly unchanged. What has changed is the output of the 373cc, liquid cooled engine which now
features a a revised valve train, cam timings and intake duct along with a forged piston.

The NS400Z engine's redline has gone up to 10,700rpm, 1000rpm more than before and it now pushes out 42.6bhp (nearly 3bhp more than before) while the torque figure remains unchanged at 35Nm. Bajaj claims a quicker 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds (1.1 seconds faster than before) and a top speed of 157km/h.
Helping with that performance is the 6-speed gearbox mated to the updated engine which now features a bi-directional quickshifter. However, this quickshifter is usable only in Sport mode.

The big change that is both visual and performance related comes in the form of the new Apollo Alpha H1 radial tyres that replace the MRFs of the previous version of Bajaj's flagship Pulsar. The rear tyre is also a wider 150-section unit instead of the 140-section of its predecessor. Another big upgrade to the 2025 Pulsar NS400Z comes in the form of updated brake pads for the front disc which are now sintered units instead of the previous version's organic pads.
The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar's design has remained the same with the LED lighting all around, 43mm USD front forks in a champagne colour-scheme and the 17-inch alloy wheels. it also continues to feature a full-colour TFT digital instrument cluster that offers Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and alerts for calls and messages. Also seen is a USB charging port.

2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Review – Riding Impressions - A Sharper Maniac

On the go, the 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is a sharper riding bike than before with he upgrades really translating to big performance gains on the road. The NS400Z's engine continues offering strong performance and while the Rain, Road and Off-Road modes feel unchanged in terms of power delivery, the Sports mode feels a lot sharper than before and also unlocks the quickshifter, which allows for quick clutchless shifts.
The extra oomph from the engine means that the new Pulsar NS400Z feels a lot quicker off the line. You'll find yourself at highway speeds quicker than you'll expect and once there the NS400Z can cruise quite easily at those speeds.
The NS400Z's ride is firm yet comfortable, absorbing bumps well. The upright seating position suitable for both short city sprints and long highway rides. The bike handles a lot better as well with the new Apollo Alpha H1'providing a lot more grip which allowing you to change direction quickly with confidence. The sintered brake pads for the front brakes help give it a lot better bite which allows gives you a lot more confidence when bringing the bike to a halt.
2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Review – Verdict & Final Thoughts
The Pulsar NS400Z was already the most powerful bike in Bajaj's lineup and the changes for 2025 add more power. ALso added are better brakes, tyres and a new quickshifter that makes changing up and down the gears an absolute breeze. Considering that the price has only increased by Rs 7,000 (ex-showroom), the new 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is a bike we would definitely shortlist in the sub 400cc segment.
