2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Review: Smoother & Sharper Operator
It was the end of 2017 when TVS revealed the first fruits of its partnership with BMW in the form of the Apache RR 310. Over the following years, TVS has been updating its faired sports bike and that is the case with the new 2024 Apache RR 310.
The 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 has undergone multiple changes to emerge in its newest avatar. So when we were invited to test out the changes at the CoasTT high-performance centre in Coimbatore, we got into our riding gear in a hurry. Here are our thoughts about the 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 after a few laps around CoasTT...

2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Review: What's Changed - More Than Skin Deep
At first glimpse, the new 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 does not look that different from its previous avatar. The most visible change comes in the form of the new Bomber Grey colourway.
For those who don't prefer the new colourway, the other visible cosmetic changes come in the form of the 'Apache' decals on the sides of the bike which are now larger and more prominent than ever before. The other visual cosmetic change comes in the form of the transparent clutch cover.

Riders with a keener eye will also notice the winglets that pop out on each side of the new Apache RR 310's fairing. While they look cool, TVS claims that these deliver an extra 3 kilos of downforce, though it has not specified at what speeds (likely only those achieved on the track).
The biggest changes to the RR 310 come in the form of the upgraded powerplant and an array of electronic aids that ensure you ride the updated sports bike without making yourself look like an idiot in the saddle.

The 2024 TVS Apache RR 310's 312.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine is the most potent form of the powerplant that we've seen in its 7-year lifetime. The RR 310's engine sports a 10% lighter forged piston, a larger diameter throttle body and a higher compression ratio. The engine also breathes better thanks to a 13% larger airbox ramming air into its heart.
The result of these changes is a peak output of 37.5bhp at 9,800rpm (up by 4bhp which is delivered 100rpm higher) and 29Nm of torque (up by 1.7Nm which is delivered 200rpm higher) in Sports and Track Modes.

Increases are also found in the Urban and Rain modes which limit the engine output to 29.5bhp at 7,600rpm (up by 4bhp) and 26.5Nm at 6,700rpm (up by 1.5Nm). All variants except for the entry-level trim now feature a bi-directional quick shifter as standard for the six-speed gearbox.
The new TVS Apache RR 310 for 2024 also comes with an array of electronic aids that've been transplanted over from its naked sibling, the RTR 310. The updated Apache RR 310 gets cruise control and owners can opt into the Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control(RT-DSC) under TVS' Built To Order customisation program which for an extra INR 16,000 adds a new IMU that helps enable features like cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, cornering cruise control and rear wheel lift-off control.

2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Review: How Does It Ride - A Smoother & More Potent Operator
So with the power upgrade, quickshifter, and new electronic aids along with the winglets, how does the new RR 310 ride at full chat? Well, we had the CoasTT race course at our disposal to get the answers...
On the move and at the limit, the updated engine felt direct and linear, smoothly rising through the rev range. The previous issues with vibrations at the 5,000rpm mark are gone and the only time you start to feel the vibes from the powerplant is when you're past the 7,500rpm when the is at its limit and telling you to shift up.

The new 2024 RR 310 is quick off the line and that 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.74 seconds is easily believable. And once you're going fast enough, those new winglets make their presence felt as they keep you planted as you wring open the throttle and head to the horizon.
In our time around the CoasTT track on the new faired Apache, we did find ourselves north of 150km/h multiple times but couldn't quite hit the top speed of 164km/h, due to the appearance of the upcoming corner; however, the RR 310 was still gaining speed before we dropped the anchors.

Speaking of the brakes, the 300mm (front) and 240mm (rear) petal disc clamped down by Bybre callipers slowed the bike down allowing you to shave off speed as you cut into the corners.
The brakes were nicely calibrated enough to ensure you don't lose control when the anchors find their sweet spot. However, with the rear ABS turned on, the rear brakes didn't feel as sharp as we would have liked. Turn the rear ABS off and we found the new RR 310 quite the playful machine that allowed us just the right amount of slip to have fun around the corners.

The suspension setup of the 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 remains unchanged. We did find the front setup to be on the stiffer side, which worked perfectly on the race track with the bike nimbly changing directions.
There is a bit of front-end dive but other than that the bike feels extremely planted through both slow and fast corners thanks to the suspension setup, the fabulous grip provided by the Michelin Road5 rubber fitted to those 17-inch alloy wheels and the electronic aids that help you keep the Apache under control at all times.

The new quickshifter is a joy to use; accurate, direct and responsive to the gentlest of inputs. That last part is something riders who haven't used a quickshifter before will have to get used to.
The riding position on the new Apache RR 310 is still quite committed but doesn't feel as aggressive as before. The seat has enough space to allow you to move easily, whether it be tucking yourself in as you blast down the straights or moving from side to side as you take the RR 310 through the corners.

2024 TVS Apache RR 310 Review: Verdict & Final Thoughts: A Smoother & Sharper Operator
The 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 sees the bike gain quite a few upgrades, which while mostly not visible to the naked eye, make the faired member of the Apache clan, a brilliant upgrade over its predecessor.
With its smoother engine and sharp-as-ever handling setup that is now aided by electronic aids that keep you in check without acting like supernanny, the 2024 TVS Apache RR 310 is the perfect toy for quick blasts on the streets (while still following the law) and for having fun on a track day. So if you find yourself, wanting to do those things, get the new Apache RR 310.
