Nissan crossover EV concept IMx unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
Japanese carmaker Nissan has unveiled an edgy new IMx crossover electric vehicle (EV) concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The new IMx crossover concept showcases Nissan's vision for the future of an emission-free environment.

So what does the new Nissan IMx has to offer? The electric utility vehicle (UV) is equipped with a four-wheel drive system, boasts of autonomous driving, on-the-go connectivity and most of all, it is spews out zero emission.

And to add to growing list of features, the Nissan IMx crossover EV concept boasts of more torque than the GT-R. The design of the Nissan IMx concept looks futuristic, with its chiselled front profile and a plenty of slits.

Executives of Nissan say the IMx crossover EV concept will lead the pack of EVs from the carmaker. While the electrified drivetrain technologies will arrive by 2020, the advanced autonomous driving features will come by 2022.

The IM moniker is derived from Intelligent Mobility - Nissan's current jargon for the combination of electrification, connectivity, and autonomous driving, while the 'x' stands for crossover.

The Nissan IMx is powered by two electric motors producing a combined power output of 423bhp and 700Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels. Nissan claims the IMx crossover offers a range of 373 miles (600km).

Nissan wants to address the issue of a relatively higher center of gravity in SUVs with the new architecture of the IMx concept. The modern architecture will allow the batteries to be placed on the floor of the vehicle which is expected to lower the center of gravity.
The Nissan IMx is futuristic, high on technology and it previews what an electric crossover would look like in the future.
