2016 Paris Motor Show: Porsche Panamera 4E Hybrid Makes Global Debut

The Panamera 4E is powered by 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine which is paired with an electric motor.

The hybrid powertrain pushes out 456bhp and 700Nm of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Panamera 4E Hybrid will sprint from 0 - 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds and the hybrid sedan will keep on accelerating till it tops out at 273km/h.

The performance sedan's electric motor is powered by a liquid cooled 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery which is located under the floor of the boot.

On a common 120 V, 10 amp connection, the included 3.6kW charger will charge the battery pack in 5.8 hours. That time period can be cut down to 3.6 hours if owners opt for the optional 7.2 kW charger.

The new Panamera 4E can travel 50 kilometres on a single charge of its battery pack.

The new Panamera hybrid will always start in pure electric mode and only engages its fossil-fuel burning engine when it goes past 138km/h.

Porsche will start deliveries of the new Panamera 4E hybrid to customers in mid-April.
