2016 Paris Motor Show: Peugeot 3008 Breaks Cover On Home Turf

The french auto giant Peugeot has unveiled its compact SUV, the 3008 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The SUV has undergone a transformation from an earlier MPV variant of 3008.

The exterior of the SUV boasts raised ride height, upright nose, long bonnet, roof bars and body cladding. The 3008 features wide grille, LED lights, floating roofline and sculpted bonnet. The SUV gets an all-new look thanks to the 18-inch wheels.

The SUV comes with both petrol and diesel variants, with a choice of two engines in both the versions. The petrol engines come with two displacement capacities - 1.2-litre and 1.6-liter, producing 128bhp and 163bhp respectively.

The 1.2-litre petrol variant is coupled with six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, whereas the 1.6-liter gets only automatic transmission.

The diesel range is more expansive, the 1.6-litre Blue HDi mill comes with two outputs - 99bhp and 118bhp mated to six-speed automatic or manual gearbox. The larger 2-litre unit has an output of 148bhp or 178bhp which is available in both manual and automatic transmission.

The interior is equipped with 12.3-inch high res screen with sat-nav maps, eight-inch touchscreen, piano key switches and sleek looking vents. The infotainment system consists of MirrorLink Apple CarPlay feature. There is also chrome detailing throughout the cabin.

The 3008 SUV will go on sale in the UK From October. The deliveries will start from January 2017. Although there is no word from the manufacturer on the pricing of the new SUV.
