2016 Paris Motor Show: Opel’s Big Premiere Of Ampera-e With Better Range Than BMW i3
Opel is revolutionizing the electro-mobility with its battery-electric car Ampera-e at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The Ampera-e with a range of 500km, outruns the BMW i3 which can run for 300km on a single charge.
The Ampera-e features a 60kwh battery and can sprint from 0 - 50km/h in 3.2 seconds, this is faster than any production car for Opel. The electric car features a 201bhp motor in the standard metric system. The peak torque is 360Nm with a top speed of 150km/h.
Opel will launch the Ampera-e and will be available starting mid-2017 and is expected to be far lower in pricing compared to the BMW i3. The company has shown anexceptional level of excitement in regards to the Ampera-e and thesole reason is because of its range of 500km.
The 2017 Opel Ampera-e is futuristic and fresh on the looks, it is practical on the inside. On the features front, the Opel Ampera-e comes with Opel-typical outstanding digital connectivity with the OnStar and smartphone projection.
Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "Our Ampera-e is not eco-luxury, not a gadget and not just a second car. Opel is showing that electro-mobility is also achievable for a much broader audience thanks to the most innovative technology - Opel is democratizing the electric car with the Ampera-e."
