The concept RN30 is based on the New Generation Hyundai i30 and is developed in collaboration with Hyundai Motorsport, Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre and Hyundai Performance Development and High Performance Vehicle Division.
The RN30 is powered by 2-litre turbocharged engine developed from Hyundai N production models. The performance is achieved by an enlarged turbo and forged engine block.
The RN30 pumps out a staggering 375bhp and 451Nm of maximum torque. The car is equipped with dual-clutch transmission delivering quick gear shifting. The RN30 gets the power delivered to all four wheels.
The concept racing machine gets high-end features such as, Electronic Variable Exhaust and limited-slip differential system which enhances the car's drivability in the race track conditions. To gain stability the RN30 rides lower with the wider stance.
The car gets many aero updates for performance such as floating fender over each wheel and side splitters. The front end features cascading grille and high-tech headlamps for aggressive looks. The airflow is managed by mesh cascading radiator grille which adds for cooling and increased downforce.
The large rear spoiler generates downforce at high speeds. The car features a large rear diffusor above white ceramic twin exhaust pipes. The 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels complete the car's dynamic appearance.
The interior design of the RN30 has been done by racing experts from Hyundai Motorsport. A bucket seat which perfectly fits driver body and an integrated roll cage which increases vehicle body strength and act as a safety cell. The image stabilisation gimbal cameras have been placed on each A pillar for capturing onboard action.
Overall the design of this car points towards the future of the N production models. This is the result of Hyundai's successful motorsports ventures. The road-version Hyundai i30N will be available next year, making the high performance driving accessible to everyone.
