2016 EICMA Motor Show: Vespa Elettrica Project Scooter Has Been Unveiled
Piaggio Group has unveiled their all-new Vespa Elettrica project. This is their very first electric scooter that is set to go on sale by mid-2017.
The 2016 EICMA Motor Show has been a destination to unveil new and interesting two-wheelers. Piaggio Group has showcased their future plans within their scooter segment. An all-new electric scooter project has been debuted.
Piaggio Group has christened its all-new electric project as the ‘Vespa Elettrica'. This project showcases the Italian-based manufacturer's interest in electric mobility. It is not only a concept electric scooter from Vespa, they promise to launch the production ready version by mid-2017.
In terms of design, Vespa Elettrica will adorn traditional scooter avatar. From no angle, the Vespa Elettrica looks like an electric scooter. Retro styling, along with an all-metal body structure will be adopted. Only replacement will be an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine.
So far, no detail on pricing and electric motor output have been shared by Piaggio Group. The Vespa Elettrica is most likely to go on sale in the European markets initially. It is unclear whether or not this electric scooter will be considered for the Indian market or not.
