The 2016 EICMA Motor Show has been huge with numerous two-wheeler unveils. At the event, Benelli has confirmed two concept models will soon be entering production. Leoncino and TRK 502 concept motorcycles will be entering production and would be launched during 2017.
Both models will be powered by a common engine from Benelli. A 500cc parallel twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine will be used in the Leoncino and TRK 502 models. This engine will produce 46bhp and will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Leoncino by Benelli is a modern/classic motorcycle with a Scrambler like design. Two versions of Benelli Leoncino will be available at the time of launch. A standard variant and a Trail model will be available which will be differentiated by tyre sizes and tyre options.
TRK 502 by Benelli will be an entry-level adventure motorcycle. A tall saddle height with off-road tyres will be provided on the Benelli TRK 502. Benelli will also be equipping the motorcycle with adjustable front forks and luggage loading potential.
As of now, it is not confirmed if DSK Benelli would be offering both models in the Indian market. However, the TRK 502 was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, which suggests it could be launched. Benelli Leoncino was not present at the 2016 Auto Expo and its introduction in India is not yet decided.
