Yamaha R1 60th Anniversary Edition
Yamaha has unveiled the 60th anniversary edition of the R1 at the 2015 EICMA. The motorcycle gets the iconic Kenny Roberts yellow and black paint scheme, along with 60th anniversary edition decals.
The major changes are cosmetic changes in terms of paint and decals, however, there is a small mechanical change in the form of a lightweight titanium Akrapovic slip-on muffler and carbon fibre heat shield.
Powering the motorcycle is a 998cc, in-line, four-cylinder liquid cooled engine that produces 198bhp and 112.4Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha R1 60th anniversary edition is a limited edition motorcycle and the Japanese manufacturer has not confirmed how many units will be made. The motorcycle will go on sale by this year-end.
Other features of the anniversary edition R1 include Banking sensitive Traction Control, Front Lift Control and Launch Control, Banking sensitive Racing ABS, Magnesium wheels and aluminium fuel tank, adjustable riding modes, and TFT LCD instrument panel.
