Yamaha Unveils MT-10 (Naked Litrebike) Based Off The R1 At EICMA — Images
Yamaha debuts the MT-10 (naked litrebike) at 2015 EICMA*. The MT-10 will be initially launched in European markets and will then be offered in several other markets. Yamaha is promoting this motorcycle as a ray of darkness that has emerged from the dark side of Japan.
The MT-10 is based on the fully-faired YZF-R1 motorcycle. For now, Yamaha has not revealed any performance figures. The MT-10 will be powered by a YZF-R1 derived 998cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, crossplane engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Engineers have provided the new MT-10 motorcycle with several segment first features: Yamaha chip controlled throttle, Yamaha D-mode, traction control system, cruise control, assist and slipper clutch system.

Yamaha designers have focussed on making the MT-10 lightweight and nimble as possible. And we are sure this motorcycle will demand the riders full attention. The design of the MT-10 to us looks menacing and futuristic.
On the pricing front, we are expecting the MT-10 to be priced slightly lower than the YZF-R1 Superbike. Regarding India and the launch, Yamaha will be introducing the MT-10, and we expect this mean machine to be launched by 2016-end.
*EICMA, or the Milan Motorcycle Show is an annual show in Milan, Italy featuring motorcycles.
