Benelli Leoncino (500cc) Scrambler Unveiled At EICMA — Images

By Jobo

Benelli, the Chinese-owned Italian company, unveiled a 500cc Scrambler — the Leoncino — at EICMA*.

The 2016 Leoncino will be powered by a 499.6cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine, which features four-valves per cylinder. The engine combined with a six-speed gearbox produces 48bhp at 8500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 4500rpm.

The Leoncino is built on a refined trellis frame and is offered with 50mm upside down front fork, 320mm double-disc with 4-piston radial callipers at the front, and a 2-piston 260mm single side disc at the rear.

Benelli will provide Anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard on the Leoncino, and from 2016, the ABS technology will be present across the Benelli range.

The styling and characteristic of the Scrambler are further enhanced with 100/80 - R19 knobby tyres at the front, and 50/70 - R17 at the rear. Also worth mentioning is the lion of Pesaro badge on the front fender, LED headlamp, flat handlebars, flat seat, and a single exhaust pipe with twin outlets.

The Leoncino is expected to launch in the second half of 2016 in European markets, and we expect Benelli India to showcase this model at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
