2017 Geneva Motor Show: Subaru XV revealed. The Subaru XV crossover sits on the firm's new global vehicle platform.

The all-new Subaru XV is slightly more rugged than the concept introduced at last year's Geneva Motor Show but retains most of the design cues of the concept car with the new grille flanked by angular headlamps.

Linking the headlights to the angular taillamps at the rear is a character line running across the sides of the new SUV. The Subaru XV SUV sits on chunky 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the new XV borrows the interiors of the Impreza with orange contrast stitching providing relief from the multiple shades of grey inside. Also present is an infotainment display and a new electronic parking brake.

Powering the new Subaru XV is a signature Subaru flat four 2.0-litre petrol engine pushing out 154bhp. All variants feature all-wheel-drive and a CVT gearbox as standard.

The Subaru XV crossover will go on sale in Europe and in the United States (where it will be called the Crosstrek), later this year.
