2017 Geneva Motor Show: Porsche 911 GT3 Unveiled
The real buzz about the new GT3 is the re-introduction of a six-speed manual gearbox to the car.
Porsche has revealed the new 911 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show, and as we all expected, the new GT3 is a faster, more powerful version and available with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Based on the updated bodywork, the GT3 draws power from a new naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that cranks out 500bhp and 338 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is based around the engines used in the 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR race cars.

The 2018 GT3 weighs 1,430 kg, and when the motor is mated to the standard seven-speed dual clutch PDK transmission, it will do 0 to 96 km/h in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of about 317 km/h.

The real buzz about the new GT3 is the re-introduction of a six-speed manual gearbox to the car. If selected, it drops weight to1,413 kg, and it takes 3.3 seconds to make a sprint from 0-100 km/h before topping out at 318 km/h.

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 features an updated chassis to provide improved handling and driving dynamics. Rear Axle Steering has also been added along with a new carbon fiber rear wing installed and a modified front fascia fitted aimed at optimizing airflow.

Inside, the car sports the same steering wheel as the 918 Spyder, sports seats with 18-way electric adjustment and the option of full bucket seats with fixed carbon fiber backrests. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) also comes standard.
