2017 Geneva Motor Show: Mercedes-AMG GT Concept Revealed — The Ultimate AMG Sedan
AMG will fully develop the Mercedes-AMG GT hybrid-powered sedan.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Concept is a four-door variant of the AMG GT sports car, and Mercedes-AMG says it's a preview of a real car it'll go to production.

Contrary to the current AMG GT lineup which is centred on gasoline-fired power only, the GT concept offers a hybrid powertrain motivated by the Mercedes-AMG Formula One cars.

The total system output, from the electric motor and the 4-litre twin-turbo V8, is 804bhp. AMG terms it EQ Power+, branding that will be employed to all performance hybrids from the company going forth.

Mercedes-AMG GT's front and rear fascias and a steeply raked windshield that is unmistakably drawn from the same mindfulness as the AMG GT sports car. The front grille's vertical ribs, side gills, and slim headlamps are all current AMG design ideas.

Automatic shutters in the front and side air intakes, a large carbon-fiber diffuser, and centrally mounted exhaust outlets work as functional nods to the Mercedes-AMG GT. Along with a large boot lid and a convenient luggage area add practicality.

The Mercedes-AMG GT can be driven in an electric-only mode (range not disclosed), or its electric motor can be used as a supporter to make the GT Concept even faster.

The battery is charged while the vehicle is driven, just like in Formula One, to ensure highest performance is accessible at all times. Again like in Formula One, battery charging occurs while braking or from the combustion engine if charge falls too far.

With a 0-100km/ h time of fewer than three seconds, a large luggage compartment, and a spacious interior, the AMG GT is a roomy four-door with performance challenging today's top supercars.
