2017 Geneva Motor Show: Lexus Unveils LS500h Hybrid
Lexus has unveiled its latest flagship sedan, the LS500h hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show. Read on.
Lexus has taken the wraps off the latest iteration of its flagship sedan, the LS500h hybrid, at the Geneva Motor Show. The luxury hybrid sedan is tuned for better fuel economy rather than outright performance. This was not the case with the previous generation car.

The previous generation of the LS sedan launched about ten years ago; the LS hybrid has been the most potent variant of the luxury sedan, aimed at other flagships with 12-cylinder engines such as the ones made by Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.

The outgoing LS600h used a 5.0-litre V8 engine paired to an electric motor that developed a combined power of 438bhp. The LS500, on the other hand, uses a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 415bhp, while the hybrid version uses a naturally aspirated engine that makes 354bhp combined with an electric motor.

The car comes with an all-new electric motor, and for the first time, the Lexus LS500h will feature a manual gearbox that will drive only the rear or all four-wheels.

Speaking of new cars, the Geneva Motor Show is underway and Tata Motors' latest car, the Tamo Racemo made its debut, pictured in the image gallery below.
