2017 Geneva Motor Show: Audi RS5 Coupe Unveiled

Audi has launched the RS5 Coupe. The car now features a newly developed bi-turbo V6 engine.

Audi launched the RS5 back in 2011. Now, the German car maker has come up with yet another variant of the car, but, this time the new RS5 Coupe features a newly developed bi-turbo V6. The engine has been downsized, but, read more to find out how well can it perform.

The all-new Audi RS5 looks identical to the regular A5. The new car has got a lot of features such as - massive air inlets, a wider grille, additional lateral air intakes and outlets, tinted bezels for the optional Matrix LEDs, DRLs and wider wheel arches.

On the other hand, visually, the car gets the RS-specific diffuser insert, oval tailpipes of the RS exhaust system and the surface-mounted spoiler lip. Buyers can also opt for the 20-inch optional alloys instead of the standard 19-inch one.

Step inside the car and you will be welcomed with beautiful leather and Alcantara upholstery. The sports seats, steering wheels and other interior trims are also covered in the fine leather.

The car also features a piano finished instrument cluster, aluminum on the door sill, the RS-specific door handles and a touch-screen infotainment system.

Mechanically, the all-new RS5 Coupe is powered by a 2.9-liter, TFSI, V6 bi-turbo engine. The engine has been made by Audi from scratch, but, produces around 444 bhp of power and 600 Nm of peak torque ( 170 Nm more than its predecessor).

The engine comes mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission which, transmits the powers to all the wheels. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and had a top speed of around 280 km/h with the optional dynamic package.

Now, Audi claims that the V6 unit consumes just 8.7 liters of fuel per 100 km, which, is approximately 11 km/l of fuel. Another significant gain is related to weight, well, now the RS5 Coupe weighs almost 60 kgs lighter that the previous model, thanks to the optional carbon fiber roof.
