Electric Morgan EV3 Revealed At Geneva Motor Show
The Morgan EV3 electric three wheeler has been revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The Morgan electric three wheeler replaces the traditional 80bhp V-Twin engine with a Lithium battery that produces 62bhp and has a range of 240km.
The Morgan EV3 electric three wheeler weighs under 500kg, while the regular Morgan with an internal combustion engine weighs 525kg. This is made possible, thanks to carbon-fibre composite body panels.
Morgan claim the the electric three wheeler can reach a speed of 100km/h from standstill in under 9 seconds, and has a top speed of more than 145km/h.
Steve Morris, Morgan's Managing Director said, "The EV3 is an exciting opportunity for our customers to enjoy the unique Morgan driving experience and the joy of tailored manufacture while remaining conscientious towards the future of our planet."
The Electric Morgan EV3 features a 'magneto' switch for drive selection, a digital screen, and trims finished in wood, aluminium, and brass.
Morgan has not announced the price of the electric three wheeler yet, but the company says it will be priced comparably with the internal combustion variant, which sells for £25,950 (approx. 24.67 lakh) onward.
