The 124 Spider By Abarth Debuts At 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Abarth has introduced its all-new 124 Spider model at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Fiat has been offering the regular 124 Spider in the European markets since last year. The ante has been upped with the introduction of an Abarth model.
Under the hood of the Abarth 124 Spider is a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The engine delivers 168bhp, along with 250Nm of peak torque and is mated to an optional 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The Abarth 124 Spider can attain a top speed of 230 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 6.8 seconds.
State of the art electronic driving aids will be provided to the Abarth 124 Spider. Engineers have equipped the model with various active and safety features. All of which can be switched off on a circuit to experience the potential of this brilliant machine.
In terms of styling, Abarth has opted for several carbon-fibre elements to lower vehicle weight. The Abarth 124 Spider looks sporty, stylish, and elegant all at the same, a difficult feat to achieve. Abarth has once again taken a regular vehicle and made it cool.
The 2016 Abarth 124 Spider will go on sale in Europe by mid-2016. It is unconfirmed if Abarth could or would bring this model to Indian shores. Currently, the Abarth 595 Competizione along with Abarth Punto and Abarth Avventura models are offered in India.
