Renegade Commando Cruiser Leads UM Motorcycles's Raid Into India

UM Motorcycles have entered the India cruiser segment with their brand new Renegade Commando cruiser bike. Prices for the Renegade Commando start at Rs. 1.59 lakhs, ex-showroom (Delhi).

Also launched were the Renegade Sport S, priced at Rs. 1.49 lakhs, ex-showroom (Delhi) and the Renegade Classic, priced at Rs. 1.69 lakhs, ex-showroom (Delhi).

Engine And Gearbox

All three Renegade cruisers use the same water cooled, 279cc single cylinder engine that produces 25bhp @8,000 rpm and 21.8Nm @7,000 rpm. All three bikes also use the same 6-speed transmission.

Suspension & Brakes

All three Renegade models have telescopic front forks up front and the twin shock absorbers at the rear. All three bikes also use a single disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear.

Design

All three Renegades UM Commando embrace the soft tail cruiser philosophy. All feature wide handlebars and are quite low to the ground.

Where they differ is up front, with the Commando going with the naked look, the Sport S going with cowl over the headlamp and the Classic adopting the old school cruiser look with a naked headlamp and large visor.

The Renegade Commando and the Classic feature spoked wheels while the Sport S features alloy wheels.

Availability and Rivals

The three Renegade Cruisers are now on sale in India and will be going up against the Royal Enfield line including the newly unveiled Himalayan.
