Engine & Gearbox Details

The Nexon is powered by two engine — the first is a turbocharged version of the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine found on the Zica while the second is a brand new 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine.

Details about the petrol engine are still scarce but the diesel is said to produce around 110bhp and 260Nm of torque.

Design

The Nexon is based on the Nexon concept seen at the last Auto Expo in 2014 and trying to find the differences between the concept and production-ready version may require a microscope.

The production ready Nexon has become slightly more angular, something that is seen on the new headlamps and tail lamps. The front grille is a little less chrome added and there is a rather prominent character line on either side of the production car.

Availability & Rivals

The Nexon is expected to hit the streets later this year and will go up against the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Creta and the Ford Ecosport.
