2016 Auto Expo: Tata Kite 5 Compact Sedan Revealed

Tata has unveiled the Kite 5 sedan for the first time to the world at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Kite 5 is a sub 4-metre compact sedan and will replace the Indigo eCS.

• Capacity - 1.2-litre/ 1.05-litre
• Power - 84bhp @6,000 rpm/ 69 @4,500 rpm
• Torque - 115Nm @3,500 / 140Nm @1,800-3,000rpm

Design

The Tata Kite 5 looks quite similar to the Zica hatch on which it is based. The only major changes with regards to the hatch is a tweaked front grille and the addition of the boot.

Due to the boot, the taillamps look quite different and the boot also has a tiny lip spoiler on it as well. Also, at the back is a rather large chrome strip that runs across most of the boot.

Availability & Rivals

The Tata Kite 5 will take on the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and the Volkswagen Ameo. The Kite 5 sedan is expected to hit the streets later this year.
