Ssangyong Tivoli Compact SUV Could Debut At 2016 Auto Expo
Ssangyong is owned by Mahindra and Mahindra and has introduced a single product in Indian market. The Tivoli by Ssangyong has been introduced in the United Kingdom and is gaining popularity rapidly. Mahindra has also put in efforts in the development of the Tivoli for international markets.
The Tivoli by Ssangyong could be showcased at 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Mahindra plans on aggressively growing its portfolio in India as well as in international markets. Ssangyong's Tivoli will be placed above Mahindra's Scorpio and XUV5OO models within the country.
Mahindra engineers have helped in the development of the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine that powers the Tivoli. Internationally Ssangyong offers the compact SUV with two-wheel and four-wheel drive options. Both engines are Euro 6 compliant and will be less polluting in terms of fuel emissions.
Ssangyong's Tivoli will compete with the likes of Renault Duster, Tata Hexa, and Hyundai Creta. The Tivoli will also have to face competition from Maruti Suzuki and it's soon to be launched Vitara premium compact SUV. With the Tivoli Mahindra will be launching Ssangyong's second product in India.
Pricing of the Tivoli will be critical in Ssangyong's success in the Indian market. There is a high possibility if Ssangyong's compact SUV is offered in India, it will be through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. Stay tuned for more updates on Ssangyong's Tivoli.
