100km/l - That's The Mileage Claim Of Renault's Bonkers Eolab Concept
Renault is showcasing its crazy looking Eolab concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. The only thing crazier than the styling is the mileage figure of 100km/l.
Engine And Gearbox
The Eolab is powered by a 1-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 75bhp and is paired with a 53bhp electric motor that sits in the clutch casing.
The transmission is automatic, and while the car runs on electric power in the first and second gear, it switches to petrol in the higher gears.
Design And Weight Saving
The Eolab is made to be as light and aerodynamic as possible to help the petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain to achieve its insane claimed mileage.
The looks are all about the curves and lines which help direct the airflow both into the car and around as well.
The front headlamps really stand out up front and are complimented by the wraparound tail lamp cluster at the rear. There are also a set of flaps at the back which deploy after the car hits 70km/h.
