VW Golf Design Vision GTi Revealed At Worthersee
Everyone's beloved hot hatch, VW Golf GTi has gained some more grunt. Actually, a lot more grunt, in its latest avatar. VW has revealed the Golf Design Vision GTI at the Worthersee auto event. The Golf Design Vision GTI is based on the seventh generation Golf GTi.
The visual changes brought about by the exterior design package does not pack a real punch, but its whole different story underneath the bonnet. Replacing the Golf GTi's peppy turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine is a twin turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 monster that more than doubles the power, while significantly improves torque output.
Power is up from 279 HP to 496 HP. To put into perspective, Nissan GT-R delivers 530 HP. Torque, on the other hand, has also gone up from 349 Nm to 560 Nm! Handling all that raw power could only be managed by a performance dual clutch transmission and one such unit of unknown specification finds a place in the GTi concept. Power is distributed to all four wheels.

Performance
0-100 km/h is reached in 3.9 sec, which is 2.6 sec quicker than the standard Golf GTI.

Performance
Top Speed:305 km/h, up from 244 km/h.

Design
Designed by an in-house design team headed by VW brand design head Klaus Bischoff.

Design
Tyres measure 235/35 in the front and 275/30 on the rear, fitted on 20 inch wheels.

Dimensions
The GTi Concept measure 4253mm in length, 1870mm in width and 1385mm in height.
This makes it 15mm shorter, 71mm wider and 57mm lower than the reggular Golf GTi.
