Subaru Makes A Statement With WRX Concept

Subaru WRX Concept, unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, showcases the future design path for the automaker. The WRX Concept retains classic WRX features such as the air scoop and introduces several new bold design changes, each of which highlight a new characteristic.

Among the few pieces of information revealed by Subaru at this point includes the roof made entirely from carbon fiber to reduce weight and lower center of gravity. The prominent bulge on the hood emphasis the use of a turbocharged engine and intercooler, while the boldly flared wheel arches promote Subaru's AWD system. Other design highlights include the prominent hexagonal grille and the hawk-eye design headlights. On the rear the boot lid has been curved which acts as a rear spoiler, while enhancing the look of the vehicle at the same time. The aggressive new rear diffuser improves vehicles aerodynamics, seamlessly integrating the quad tailpipes, emphasising power. The Subaru WRX concept is painted in "WR Blue Pearl III", a modern take on the classic Subaru Blue, along with Fluorescent Yellow accents on the WRX badge, tailpipe tips and brake calipers.
