Skoda Rapid Sport Concept Headed To Worthersee
[Update: Added images showing the rear and front of the cconcept car] The Skoda Rapid could be just another boring sedan that you use to commute everyday, but with the right treatment the Rapid could be just as sporty and aggressive looking as an outright sports car. Case in point is the Skoda Rapid Sport Concept that the Czech automaker will showcase at the Worthersee Tour later this week.
The Skoda Rapid Sport Concept is based on the new Skoda Rapid four door sedan. The only example we have now is a digital sketch of the concept and based on it we can say the Rapid Sport catches our eye.
From what information Skoda has released and from the image we can see several sporty upgrades such as an aggressive front end that includes a new bumper, front and rear spoiler, air intake vents on the hood, sporty side skirts, large wheel arches to accommodate larger 19 inch wheels, a massive rear bumper and integrated twin exhaust pipes. The insides sport illuminated sill plates and Recaro bucket seats. Last, but not the least is the special paint job, done in "Corrida Red" and "Steel Grey", with the red covering the wheels as well.
We'll have to wait and see whether Skoda has fitted the Rapid Sport Concept with a new, more powerful engine or has decided to go with the stick units. The most powerful engine provided with the new Skoda Rapid is the 1.4 liter TSI unit rated at 120 hp.
