Sin R1, The Boutique 518HP Supercar From Goodwood
Earlier this week at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, in the crowd of well well known exocitic cars a boutique supercar maker caught the attention of onlookers. The car, named R1, is from a small German company named Sin which builds sports cars based on private orders.
Sin R1 is the company's first effort to enter mainstream sports car business and from the attention it grabbed at Goodwood it would at least be safe to say people are interested to see what they have for offer. Here's more about the company and the car.

At Goodwood
Showcased at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, R1 made its first public outing early this year at the 2013 Autosport International.

Production run
The R1 is the first car meant for series production coming from the Munich, Germany based Sin. Sin has announced it intends to build track-only and street legal versions of the R1 sports car.

The name
If you are wondering what prompted the company to take up the name Sin, here is how the company explains it: ITS A SIN... Famous rock band song... Everybody will ask why?. Because by doing this business the people who love cars and motorsport always have a sin... connected with free time for their families, for themselves, for their friends... So we confess our SIN... We developed this project for one year and built the first prototype for a month. Its first exhibition will be at Autosport 2013. Our first car which we placed in Autosport 2013 in one month. So, this is our SIN.

Chassis
The car is like any other sports car, light and strong, built using tubular spaceframe chassis and a carbon composite cabin. Sin says the chassis has received approval from MSA and FIA as well.

Weight
The whole car thus weighs just 1,200 kgs and has a weight ratio of 40/60.

Engine
Like most small companies and startups Sin does not make its own engines. The R1 is thus powered by a LS3 6.2 liter V8 engine rated at 518 HP, sourced from General Motors.

Transmission
The transmission meanwhile, is a rear wheel driving, 6 speed Graziano unit which is the same one found in a Porsche 911 GT2.

Performance
0-100km/h sprint is done in less than 3 seconds, according to Sin and the car has a top speed exceeding 320 km/h.

Features
265/35 and 325/30 size front and rear tyres cover 19 inch alloy wheels. Stopping power comes from AP Racing brake system, 362 mm front /rear racing calipers. The R1 also features a Titan steering rack.
