Porsche Macan shares its platform with the Audi Q5. However, it's slightly smaller and measures about 185 long, 75.71 inches wide, 63.94 inches high, with a wheelbase measuring 110.51 inches.

Porsche Macan S is powered by a twin turbo 3.0 liter V6 engine delivering 340 HP. Macan Turbo gets a twin turbo 3.6 liter V6 that outputs 400 horses.

Both engines will be mated to a seven speed PDK dual clutch transmission, transfering power to all four wheels. The compact SUV will also feature Porsche Traction Management system, among other electronic driving aids.

Macan S can sprint from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds, while the Turbo takes 4.6 seconds to achieve the same. With the optional Sport Chrono package the times are reduced to 5.0 seconds and 4.4 seconds respectively. Top speed is 265.5 km/h and 264 km/h respectively.

All Porsche Macan SUVs will come with a Sport button, which will make the steering more responsive, suspension stiffer and boost engine performance for a quicker, sportier drive.

For off roading, at the press of a button every traction control related electronics are turned on as well as increasing ground clearance by 1.58 inches to 9.06 inches. This only works at speeds below 80 km/h.

Porsche Macan's interior is familiar to other Porsche vehicles. For example, the central control panel reminds you of the center console from the 918 Spyder. A bevy of electronics amenities, including support for smartphones running iOS and Android, Bose or Burmester sound system, hard drive based navigation system, with 7 inch touch screen and more are provided depending on variant and optional features.

Porsche Macan will be launched in India in 2014. Expect starting price to be below INR 50 lakhs.
