2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo Revealed At Tokyo Auto Show

The 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo is officially here. The most performance oriented production Godzilla Nissan has ever built. So potent is the new Nismo tuned GT-R that it has achieved a Nurburgring lap time of 7:08.679. That's only 11 seconds slower than a Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar, which costs several times more.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, the 2015 Nissan GT-T Nismo is more closely related to GT-R Nismo GT3 race car than ever before. Yet its perfectly legal to drive on public roads. Nissan calls the GT-R Nismo, the car with ZERO competition.

2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo

The improvement starts with the 3.8 liter V6 twin turbocharged engine, which has received racing upgrades. These include larger diameter turbos, larger air intakes and modified ignition timing for each cylinder.

A max power of 600 HP is now achieved at 6800 rpm, while 650 Nm torque is at its disposal. Nissan has not released performance specs though.

Improvements to the chassis has resulted in reduced road noise and harshness, improved refinement, improved roll stiffness, with reduced weight.

Custom developed Bilstein DampTronic dampers in the front and rear suspensions deliver exceptional grip levels and progressive handling response at the limit.

Widened front bumpers with air splitters, engine undercover, large rear spoiler increase aerodynamic performance and provide 100 kg of downforce when travelling at 300 km/h.

Other visual upgrades includes are 6 spoke wheels inspired by Nissan's GT500 race car. The aerodynamic improvements has also resulted in a reduced drag coefficient of Cd 0.27.

There's also a Dark Matte Grey model that's exclusive to the GT-R Nismo. Also, the large rear wing and are carbon fiber upgrades found in the Nurburgring lapping car are part of a road legal performance package.

Coming to the interior. The bucket seats come from RECARO and are carbon fiber backed, providing comfort and support for the driver and front seat passenger.

The steering wheel is covered in Alcantara, is three spoked and is adorned with red center mark and red stitching.

The 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo also provides electronics to let drivers monitor and record performance telemetry data.
