McLaren MP4-12C GT Sprint Track Only Edition
McLaren has come out with another special edition of the 12C supercar named 12C GT Sprint. The new car is placed above the 12C GT3 version but below the all powerful 12C Can-Am GT. Understandably, the new 12C GT Sprint is not road legal and is a track toy.
McLaren GT, the motorsports and tuning division of McLaren says the new car delivers the performance of a GT car, while still maintaining ease of handling comparable to road cars. McLaren 12C GT Sprint debuted at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 3.8 liter twin turbocharged unit developing 161 HP has been left untouched and has been mated to the same seven speed dual clutch transmission.

However, the engine cooling system has been replaced with the same unit from the 12C GT3.

The car bears the typical race car aggressive looks, though not as aggressive as the Can-Am GT. Bespoke front bumper, GT car like bonnet air ducts, a large rear spoiler (again, not as massive as the one from the Can-Am) and polycarbonate windshield.

Since it meant only for track use it comes fitted with slick tyres and the suspension has been lowered by 40mm. In addition, drivers will also get to select from three handling settings - damping, roll stiffness and ESP.

A few other critical features incldue McLaren ProActive Chassis Control (PCC), Brake Steer and the McLaren Airbrake.

Inside, you race the standard spec roll cage, racing seat with six point harness and fire extinguisher. But McLaren has added air-con to keep its millionaire owners comfortable.

Only 20 units of the 12C GT Sprint will be made this year, each costing £200,000 (€232,250).
