The word Sugomi "describes the intense aura or energy given off by a person or object of greatness and felt by the viewer. Someone, or something, possessing sugomi inspires awe, leaves an indelible impression, is daunting in stature or ability, and commands respect." Whether or not that holds true depends on you.

Part of the revised design are the aggressive new headlights. It's not just the design that's new, but they also happen to be the first LED lamps in an Japanese sports bike.

The 1043cc engine powering the Z1000 now delivers 140 HP and 111 Nm torque, thanks to several improvements. One of which are the new connected cylinders that reduce friction loss.

Kawasaki has also revised ECU settings, altered camshaft timings, introduced a new airbox design among other things.

Brake monobloc calipers are from Tokico gripping petal brake discs. Improvements to the master cylinder has also increased braking performance.

The major improvements in the suspension department come from Showa Big Piston forks, which feature Separate Function Fork-Big Piston (SFF-BP) function. This works by the way of one fork handling rebound damping and the other compression.

With the addition aof all the improvements the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 weights 221 kg, sans fuel in the 17 liter tank.

2014 Kawasaki Z1000 has been priced at $11,999, a bump of $1,000 over the outgoing model.
