The transformation from a large, but docile creature that the Honda Gold Wing is, to an aggressive naked cruiser has brought in a change in characteristics that goes beyond a mere visual change. Honda Valkyrie a much faster and more powerful cruiser that'll appeal to the cruiser riding crowd.

2014 Honda Valkyrie is powered by the same massive 1,832cc flat six cylinder Honda engine from the Gold Wing.

The engine develops 117 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 166 Nm of torque at just 4,000 rpm as before, but now has only 340 kg of heft to pull, as against Gold Wing's 410 kg.

We all know more power and less weight results quicker acceleration and a more easily manageable bike, which is what Honda wanted to achieve.

Besides bringing down the weight Honda has also made changes to the aluminium subframe to lower the Valkyrie's seat height to just 28.8 inches. This helps in increasing stability at speeds and improves handling.

The aluminum swingarm on the Valkyrie is one sided while the front end has been stretched with a 30.5° rake and 121.5mm trail, which brings the wheelbase up to 67.2 inches

Dual channel ABS will be optional, while the discs, now larger than the Gold Wing, measuring 310 mm (twin) at the front and 316 mm (single) at the rear.
The official video of the Honda Valkyrie sums up the performance and features well.
