Frankfurt - Infiniti Q30 Concept Previews Upcoming Luxury Compact Car
Infiniti could have a hit at its hand in 2015 when it comes out with the production car which is previewed in the Infiniti Q30 concept. On display at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the Q30 can be called a graceful and mature crossover, which Infiniti describes as a ""design mash-up" of three different types of body style - the coupe, the hatch and the crossover."
The automaker had previously stated that the Q30 has "the sportiness of a coupe, the roominess of a hatch and the higher stance of a crossover". Infiniti is largely targeting a younger generation who are looking for a premium branded car, which is not luxurious in the conventional sense and also looks unlike typical high-end cars.
The production car, resulting from the Q30 Concept, which will come out in a couple of years, will be influenced by inputs provided by Infiniti's director of performance, F1 champion Sebastian Vettel, from the start. It will be Nissan's first luxury compact car, coming from Infiniti, that will take on Audi Q3 and Merc B-Class and GLA-Class.

"Younger customers are coming into the premium segment with their own attitude toward premium-ness," said Hugues Fabre, Director, Infiniti Marketing. "They are looking for intense, authentic experiences, and they are willing to bend the traditional codes of luxury and disrupt convention to create better and more customised experiences.

"We believe these customers deserve a premium product of their own. Q30 Concept explores that possibility."

"These customers want to define for themselves what luxury is rather than have others impose that definition," said Fabre. "They're less willing to connect size, presence and high-output power as key ingredients of the premium product. Rather, they're looking more for balance, great design and outstanding execution."

"Q30 Concept is designed to make an emotional connection with customers spontaneously," Fabre said. "It's a connection we believe they want to make."
