Fiat 500 1957 Edition Pays Tribute To Its Retro Forefather
The famous Fiat 500 small city car made its debut in 1957 as the Nuova 500 or New 500, in Italy. Loved across Europe and outside for its compact, practical, not to mention adorable design, the Fiat 500 is considered as one of the cars that started the compact city car segment.
Nearly 6 decades later the car still exists and is ready to look back into its life with a special Fiat 500 1957 Edition. As the name suggests, the new limited edition model takes its design cues from the very first 500 and will be on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Fiat 500 1957 Edition is a tribute to the retro Nuova Cinquecento model from that year. The special edition is based on the 2014 Fiat 500 Lounge variant.

Fiat 500 1957 Edition is available in three colours - Bianco (White), Verde Chiaro (Light Green) and Celeste (Celestial Blue) - with a signature Bianco painted roof and mirror caps.

The wheels measure 16 inches and come with full wheel covers in typical retro style. The Wheels have a wide chromed lip, body colour accent and large center cap with the Fiat emblem. The emblems also appear on the front fascia and rear boot lid.

The Fiat 500 1957 Edition has a dual tone interior. Avorio (Ivory) interiors, with contrasting Marrone (Brown) seats, hand rests, gear shift lever, and steering inner ring, once again with Avorio accent stitching.

The Fiat 500 1957 Edition comes with a 1.4 liter MultiAir engine producing 101 HP. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission, with a six speed automatic available as option.

"The 1957 Edition celebrates the Cinquecento, the icon of our brand, and its unique cachet of Italian style, efficiency and engaging road manners," said Jason Stoicevich, Head of FIAT Brand for North America, Chrysler Group LLC. "Created for Italian car and design fans who want an added sense of the historic Cinquecento's spirit, the '1957 Edition' features unique styling elements, material finishes and, of course, a manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension."
