Autosport International Chants Surtees All The Way
Be a good counter of numbers when you hit Birmingham's NEC next year, for the annual Autosport International. The biggest motorsport show in Europe is stardomed by John Surtees himself. 7:1 is the ratio of John Surtees, a legend on any turf, if we may term him. John Surtees was triumphant in both the Motorcycle Road racing and Formula 1 World Championship. He dominated the automobile worlds from 1958 ( 7 Motorcycle Championships) to 1964 (1 Formula one Championship).
Surtees was a Midas in the automobile world and in his realm, turning everything he touched into gold. His legend didn't stop there - he became the only British driver to have driven and won the World Title with the Italian Tycoon 'Ferrari'. He is also a member of an exclusive club of drivers, who drove for their own team - The Surtees Racing Organization 1970.
Loads of Surtees activity at the show, as he highlights 'The Henry Surtees Foundation' and its actvities. A foundation cropped after this son's tragic death in an accident at Brands Hatch, 2009. Aiding to accident victims, providing - education, training and road safety instruction for both the 2 & 4 wheelers.
When prompted John for a few words about the event, he uttered delightly "Autosport International is a major part of the motorsport calendar, and I'm delighted to be attending the 2014 show, Having raced for over 30 years in many different disciplines, it'll be exciting to pass on my experiences to passionate fans, and share the work of the Henry Surtees Foundation in motorsport and road safety." This magnanimous event is now opening tickets for £31 for Adults and £20 for the children.
