Audi Reveals Crosslane Coupe Concept At Paris

Audi, the German carmaker is planning to add yet another SUV to its line-up and this might not be something bigger than the Q7. Instead it appears to be a much smaller one. Audi has revealed the Crosslane Coupe concept car at the Paris Motor Show and this car could well be the new Q2.

The Audi Crosslane Concept is a petrol hybrid. It is powered by a 1.5-litrer turbocharged petrol engine that generates 130bhp of power and 210Nm of torque. The Crosslane Concept also gets two electric motors that generate 68bhp and 116bhp a piece.

The dual mode hybrid set up will deliver oodles of power and torque. While one electric motor will start the turbo charged petrol engine, the second motor will power the Crosslane to speeds up to 55kmph. Once you cross this speed, the petrol engine kicks in to take the Crosslane to a top speed of 182kmph.

The 0 to 100kmph sprint is completed in 9.8 seconds while running only on electricity the time comes down to 8.6 seconds while running on dual mode. The dual mode not only helps deliver full power but also helps reduce the fuel consumption of the car. The Audi Crosslane's mileage will be a mind numbing 91kmpl!

Audi has stated that the Crosslane will have a 2+2 seating layout. So adding another person could be a squeeze. Not surprising considering this is the smallest crossover from Audi. Audi has not stated if the Crosslane concept will go in to production yet.
