11th Delhi Auto Expo Highlights

The Delhi Auto Expo is the most premier auto show in the country. This biennial event has been organised by SIAM (Society of India Automobile Manufacturers) CII (Confederation of India Industry) and the ACMA. This event will be covered for the first time by the Drivespark Team. We are as excited about it as several of our readers.

The Auto Expo will be open for the media from 5th and 6th January followed by being open to regular visitors from 7th. The expo has been regularly held at Delhi's premier exhibition location - Pragathi Maidan. The Auto Expo has grown to be a huge international event with several foreign automakers making a beeline to exhibit their products at the show. Several international media persons have already landed.

All major carmakers except Mitsubishi and Hindustan Motrs will be at the delhi Auto Expo. Some of the auto makers will be launching new products and some will be displaying their recently launched updates. Some of the most notable products will be the Bajaj low cost care tentattively named as the RE60, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Swift Sport and hybrid, the Audi Q3 and S6, the Hyundai Veloster coupe and the HND 7 concepts.

The one model we are quite interested is the diesel powered Tata Nano that is expected to be unveiled tomorrow. The timing of its launch is quite interesting considering Bajaj Auto just launched its low cost car, the RE60. The diesel Nano is expected to deliver a mileage of 40kmpl which is 5kmpl more than the petrol powered RE60.
