Suzuki GSX-R750 Preparing For A Comeback In 2018
The all-new GSX-R750 is expected to retain the same inline four-cylinder engine, but it will be tuned to put out more power.
The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Suzuki, is readying its all-new GSX-R750 middleweight sportsbike. According to reports, the motorcycle would hit the market in late 2018 or 2019. The Suzuki GSX-R750 is one of the most iconic motorcycles in many ways.
The current generation of the GSX-R750 was introduced in 2011 and hasn't gone any update till date. Still, it is the world's most loved middleweight superbike. Most of the manufacturers are shying away from introducing a new middleweight machine except Suzuki.
Honda has dropped the CBR600RR in Europe because it is cost prohibitive to bring the engine under the Euro 4 compliance. Kawasaki is also expected to follow the same path and discontinue the ZX-6R. But Suzuki will not allow the GSX-R750 to die so easily.
The all-new GSX-R750 is expected to retain the same inline four-cylinder engine, but it will be tuned to put out more power. The manufacturer will also add a few upgrades to the chassis and suspension. It will be also equipped with electronic rider aids such as advanced traction control, ride-by-wire, ride modes, launch control, cornering ABS, etc.
Styling for the new GSX-R750 will likely take its cue from its bigger brother, the GSX-R1000. The engine employed on the current model produces 128bhp of power at 12,600rpm and 76Nm of torque at 11,100rpm.
Once launched, the all-new Suzuki GSX-R750 will compete against the likes of proven machines such as the MV Agusta F3 800 and Ducati 959 Panigale. It's unclear whether Suzuki will be launching the GSX-R750 in India.
