Hero MotoCorp Sources Magneti Marelli Fuel Injector For HX250R
India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp. had displayed an array of products at 2014 Auto expo, which was held in New Delhi. The manufacturer also made its presence felt at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Paris.
Hero MotoCorp. showcased its Hastur, HX250R, superbike developed with help from EBR and a few scooters. The HX250R is supposedly launching soon and they are trying to keep costs in check to make their offering attractive.
They will providing their motorcycle with fuel injection system for maximum fuel efficiency. Hero MotoCorp. will be seeking this component from Italian component provider Magneti Marelli. This is the same company that provides several components in MotoGP.
Currently Magneti Marelli is providing parts to manufacturers like Tata and Maruti Suzuki. Both these manufacturer use the Italian developed auto-manual transmission. Manufacturers like Honda, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan and Renault will also be sourcing this AMT option for future models.
The Magneti Marelli fuel injector system will be for the first time featured on an Indian motorcycle. Hero MotoCorp. has opted for this component as it would be too expensive to develop their own system. Their goal is to make the HX250R affordable for most motorcycling enthusiasts.
Hero MotoCorp. will be launching its flagship HX250R in India early next year. It will compete head on with Honda's CBR 250R, which is on sale in India. It will be great advantage for buyers to know that some components of their motorcycle have been developed in MotoGP.
