A 16 months old Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 caught fire in the middle of the road and was charred in Tamil Nadu. Dhanish Ahamed owned the motorcycle from Pasumalai, Tamil Nadu.
Dhanish was riding his Pulsar RS 200 to his college when he notices fire coming from the engine area. Immediately he parked the motorcycle on the side of the road. Within minutes the entire motorcycle was on fire. By the time help arrived the Pulsar RS 200 was completely charred.
Dhanish stated that there were no aftermarket parts installed on the motorcycle. The Pulsar RS 200 was also serviced at regular intervals, and he was riding at a speed of 60km/h.
He said that he has no idea how the fire broke out and suspects that the short circuit may have led to the fire. The Bajaj dealer has also promised Dhanish a brand new Pulsar RS 200 as a replacement.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is manufactured at the company's Chakan plant. The motorcycle draws power from a 199.5cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine producing 24bhp and 18.3Nm of torque.
