Lamborghini To Soon Introduce A ‘One-Off’ Supercar — What Could It Be?
Lamborghini is working on a one-off supercar that will be announced to its customers shortly.
Italian exotic carmakers are full of surprises. Take Lamborghini for example, the carmaker launched the Aventador S Roadster at the Frankfurt Motor Show but still managed to surprise people with an announcement.
Lambo's Director of Research and Development, Maurizio Reggiani, told Car Advice that a limited edition Lamborghini will be announced to its customers shortly, that will showcase some new technologies for the carmaker. He also said that the car is expected to be sold out by the time it's revealed.
Reggiani said, "Soon we will present to our most important customers a new version of what we call a one-off. For us, a one-off is a small number of cars where we make scouting of a new design trend, like we did with the Centenario and not only that, we introduce some new technology."
"It was also the case with the Centenario where we revealed rear-wheel steering that came into production [with the Aventador S]. We will announce it with our loyal customers that wait for this, we don't need to do more, we arrive at the motor show, and the production is already sold out."
What we could expect from Lamborghini is a hybrid engine, something similar to the carmaker's rivals such as Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren. The Italian marque already confirmed the launch of the Urus SUV, which will debut alongside the new special edition Lamborghini Reggiani is talking about.
DriveSpark Thinks!
While Mercedes, Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren already have hybrid engines in their cars, Lamborghini seems to have a bit of disadvantage of a late start, but that has not stopped customers from buying out the car even before its official reveal.
