Mercedes Unveils The Perfect Limo For The Dictator In You
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its range topping Maybach S600 Pullman Guard armoured limousine ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The new Maybach S600 Pullman Guard is approximately 6,500mm long and has a 4418 mm long wheelbase. The armoured limo weighs in at a massive 5.6 tons.
Powering the armoured behemoth is a twin turbo 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 522bhp and 830Nm of torque. However due to the Guard's excessive weight, the top speed of the limo is limited to 160km/h.
However, all that weight is there for a reason as the Maybach S600 Pullman Guard boasts of VR9 ballistic protection which is good enough to keep the bullets from an assault rifle away from the occupants inside.
The Guard also boasts of Directive ERV 2010 protection which means that the armoured dicator carrier can withstand blasts of up to 15 kilograms of TNT from a distance of two metres.
To make it bullet and bomb proof, the S600 Pullman Guard has steel has been integrated into the cavities between the body structure and the outer skin of the limo. Additionally, aramid and PE components have been used throughout the exterior to provide splinter protection.
The windows have been coated in polycarbonate. However, the rear window hasn't been armored but instead, a steel bulkhead has been positioned behind the rear seats to protect the passengers.
To ensure that the dictator inside is kept comfortable, Merc have fitted the Maybach S600 Pullman Guard with executive seats with massage functions.
There is also an 18.5-inch display which can be used to keep the powerful person inside busy.
Optional extras includesirens, flashing lamps, two-way radios, an emergency starter battery, and an external communication system(loudspeaker/microphone) to ensure the dictator inside can shout orders at his minions.
The price for all this excessive safety,1.4 million euros (Rs. 10.45 crore).
